This is the time of year where my love for the rapidly changing weather is at an all time high.

It has been so nice to be home for a bit after a hectic fall, but my trip to Hawaii is coming up fast and I am quickly getting excited.

I have spent the majority of the last four years pushing females to celebrate their power through their passions, to say the very least - girl power is something I live for. Just scroll through my feed alone, it is basically a collection of images of lady bosses doing what makes them feel strong. I am constantly inspired by these ladies and couldn’t be more proud to see changes being made for females.

At a time where females are finally building the voice they deserve and I couldn’t be more excited, I have failed to mention just how darn amazing the men in my life are as well.
Without my dads support, there is no chance I would be where I am, and my brother has been the only guy to give me business advice I have ever listened to. Then, there is the guy in the picture, a bit of a new addition, but things have changed drastically since he has walked into my chaotic life. His consistent encouragement and support has made me feel more confident in what I am capable of in a new way.
This particular photo was taken in Haida Gwaii this past fall, as Connor and I were about to summit the mountain, there was a loud-ground-shaking rock slide on the mountain adjacent to us. For those of you that know me well, know I am much more calm at sea level. This particular incident caught me off guard, which resulted in many tears and me wanting to run down the mountain and forget about the summit completely. BUT Connor, held both my hands and after about an hour of the kindest encouragement - we finished the final 25 ft to the summit. If it weren’t for him not only being in the photo but having the patience and confidence in me to get to get to the top I would have never gotten to take one of my favourite images of 2018 and features by @finisterreuk. I can’t pretend like this power has not become such a big part of my life.
So this post is for the males that have changed my life, things wouldn’t be the same without you and I love you all a lot.

Some stories I work on mean more than others, and this one in particular brought light to why I do what I do. This young group of female surfers here in Tofino are the definition of dedication. All under the age of 15, you will see them out on the coldest and stormiest days, probably having more fun than any one else in the line-up.
